Arcadia High school (1959-demolished 2008 except circular library)

If you got to see the old Arcadia high school before it was demoed in 2008, then you know how cool it was. When the school was re-built in 2008, everything from demolished except the circular library, which still stands today.

Pima Elementary School (1959- demolished 2018)

Feel free to search the #melensign hashtag to see my post last year about the demolition. Pima Elementary school was completely demolished in 2018 and re-built.

Navajo elementary school (1960)

#Navajoelementaryschool is a series of red brick mid-century modern buildings with concrete slab rooflines. Sadly, there was a fire at the school in 2018. The school is currently being re-built with a number of updates such as insulated concrete forms for the walls, and will open again to students in 2020.

Asbury United Methodist Church (1967)

Phoenix, AZ

The cupcake chapel as it is sometimes called, was designed by Mel Ensign. It’s rumored that the round design was to resemble a crown for Jesus. It’s also pink and perfect. It only has seating for 74 guests.
